day1
icebreakers was when me and leonard started talking to each other cos we had to squeeze our brain juice thinking of games for the girls in our group. there were 6 of them, youngest was 6 and oldest was 12. then during mass icebreakers wilson made me do forfeit and the kids asked for all kinds of weird things like cartwheel and handwalk. in the end christopher helped me do cartwheel and i did a split which kinda failed cos i fell haha.
ball games were fun except the fact that group leaders were not allowed to score. but apparently me and leonard helped our group girls alot and i was running around the field waving to leonard and calling 'lenny lenny'! after that junyang started making fun of leonard for the name but i seriously don't see what's wrong with the name lenny. it's like emelyne = eme, jonathan = johnny, and so leonard = lenny! lol.
origami making was more disastrous than i expected cos my group girls were lagging behind the rest. leonard was basically having one-on-one session with chulynn so i had to handle the rest. and after a while ellen just got bored so i had to patiently help her fold hers. and that's when junyang came in useful lol, thanks for helping out so much with our group (: but i think it's a very meaningful activity cos the kids were making origami cards for other children from child cancer foundation, those who are less fortunate than them.
after the kids went home the guys went to soak the firewood while we sorted out the cards the kids made, looking for inappropriate or insensitive messages.
junyang: ok so the guys will soak the firewood while the girls sort the cards.
andrew: eh you very sexist leh, who say girls cannot soak firewood?
junyang: ok let's switch roles :D
joey of my group wrote this message: i love you because you play with me. it's the most inappropriate message but oh my god don't you just think it's so sweet x)
day2
had station games back at rj, and they were fun fun fun! thank you all station masters! sometimes when i looked at the kids i really wanted to laugh, how immature they were and how they behaved like they knew everything and started blaming others when they did something wrong, and yet they were so innocent and everything, hah i think i used to be like them too.
campfire was great, though walter the campfire ic got sick and went home halfway. and junyang actually thought he screwed up the whole thing after taking it over but really i thought it turned out so fine! the kids loved the rippy the gator show displayed by our ex-ri ncc guys who are none other than leonard kinwai and kezhong! :D and they loved the song we sang for them too, voices that care, another raffles song which i've never heard before.
day3
dylaine made my day early in the morning by giving me a bookmark she made and a notepad on which she wrote i like you forever, aww :D we travelled down to bishan park for games and wilson made me do forfeit again for the game hunter fire earthquake. and dylaine asked for me and leonard to dance together, which was kinda stupid cos leonard basically didn't move at all haha.
then halfway through the games me eme and joyce went j8 to shop for presents on behalves of the individual group leaders. missed out on the leonard-how-game which the rest of us planned so well the previous day.
the wrap-up was quite ok, i mean come on, they are all kids, they haven't reached the age of getting emo when it comes to farewell and stuff yea?

this is joey! she's really really adorable and her front teeth are missing x) lol! and she liked holding my hand while telling me all kinds of random stuff like how she dreamt of weird stuff and how others call her sister a huachi cos she likes flowers, lol! and she insisted that me and leonard are married haha. i guess she's my favourite girl! but i didn't display favoritism, i liked all my group's girls equally (:
joel! the only boy in the whole camp! kezhong's favourite cos he's from catholic high too just like himself. and kezhong really hopes joel'll end up in ri too lol.
rippy the gator returns! lol the kids asked for it again on day 3 cos apparently it was just too entertaining. kinwai and kezhong caught in action. and these guys' version of showing respect: right fist hits left chest twice and hand points out, wah damn funny lol.

alright this camp had been great and i wanna say a big thank you to all group leaders and organisers for the wonderful 3 days, and that include mrs chan andrew junyang walter chris eme jiahui kezhong kinwai wilson alison lewis and leonard! and not forgetting the station masters especially joyce who came down on the 3rd day too cos she just couldn't resist the temptation of the kids lol! special thanks to leonard for being a fun co-leader though he was much much more funny when he was with us than when he was around the girls. and also special thanks to junyang for having faith in me and letting me be one of the group leaders or else i'll never get to do something this meaningful and get to know this bunch of great people :D
and i'm glad that despite the very different backgrounds all the kids came from, we treated them all equally and made a change to their lives. and mrs chan said the parents of the kids have reflected very well too, she's proud of us and said that after all those things that happened recently which somehow tainted raffles' reputation, she's glad that there's us who displayed the other side of raffles students :D
