you know one thing about coming to raffles is that no one expects me to be outstanding anymore cos for every thing i do there're always a million others who do it better than me.

you know another thing about coming to raffles is that i get to meet people who are really self-absorbed and cliquish and the worst part about it is that they are not even like this intentionally.

first few days of school have been a mix of good and bad, and bad > good.

i still haven't even completed my gp holiday assignments, i can't believe i can actually reach this stage. maybe freedom in jc is not such a good thing for me after all.

haven't been going for extra trainings with bernice and sichen and i'm lagging behind and i'm very sure i'm gonna be so dead for novices. i'll really laugh at myself if i can't even get into direct elimination.

this school is full of people who can juggle a million things at the same time as if they have 48 hours in one day and still not let their studies get affected. the more i look at these people the more i feel discouraged and wonder whether i should just succumb to the fact that i can never excel anymore or whether i should still try hard no matter what.

but of course among all these there are blessings too, and i've been taught to count my blessings and not my troubles. such as this lovely little thing bernice got for me from bangkok (:

and my saturdays are made more worth looking forward to by this adorable girl
her name is oscilla, p1 this year, she comes to my house for tuition every saturday. she has 2 older brothers, one of which is not that good at studies and the other has got some illness and so attends a special school. her mum told my mum that she really hopes oscilla'll study hard and get into a good school like rgs and help to take care of her brother when she grows up. and it makes me feel really upset for her cos i just wonder whether this innocent hardworking smart little girl knows how much she'll have to face in the future. and yet she's so optimistic and cheerful. if she can face the world with her beautiful smile, why can't i.
