my NINETEEN year old fingers are typing hello singapore i'm back! and i was welcomed by all the smses and emails and tags haha thank you everyone! heh i think i forgot how to speak english already. and life there was good, i almost didn't feel like coming back (: it feels funny how you have to live a life at one place, and you have another life to live at another place, and you just travel between these two places, and somehow it feels like you are neither here nor there.

thank you everyone who were concerned about my safety after the earthquake occurred (: don't worry it didn't affect me. but it did kill tens of thousands of people, and made millions homeless and parentless and childless. but there were even more who contributed their time and money and even risked their lives to save others' lives. but besides spending hours sitting in front of the tv and crying there was only that little that i could do for the people there. somehow people all become selfless and strong when it comes to life and death. china has gone through so much thick and thin recently, i really wish her peace from now on.

don't you agree that each time a calamity strikes, people start to learn all sorts of things about life. it makes you realise the fragility of life and teaches you how to be grateful for what you have. and then you want to lead a better life and be a better person. but exactly how long do these lessons last before we all go back to be grasping and get swept away by our trivial concerns such as which course to take and which uni to go to and which pair of shoes to buy and whether to tell him or not and blah blah. heh. i hope they last forever.

on my birthday yihan sent me his prayers for the people at sichuan. thank you yihan for always feeling the same way as i do (: and shiyi called up my house to ask if i was safe. i love you shiyi for loving me (: and zixian told me the girls wanted to meet up on my birthday to celebrate without me and they wanted to eat vegetarian food cos it was vesak day. haha! i'm glad to be back really (:
