last night i reached home damn tired from training and shopping for johnny's birthday presents, to find out that mum just bought me a new swimming suit. it was really really pretty, this damn pretty shade of blue which i'm very sure will blend in very well with the water in the pool. i haven't swum for ages, in fact i don't think i've even stepped into a pool for the whole of last year, not counting the wading in zixian's condo's pool lol. and it has also been a long time since mum last surprised me with something new and nice. deep inside i was so glad about it.

i think recently i tend to get so distracted by certain things that i neglect other more important stuff in life. like how i'm putting trainings before tutorials and tests, and how i'm putting some boy who does not even notice me as much as i do him before my friends' feelings. and this time, instead of showing any appreciation to mum for the pretty swimming suit, my first reaction was why waste so much money on something that i probably won't even use for more than 2 times a year.

speaking of trainings and A division, i know i shouldn't prioritise it too much but i just can't help but be really affected by it. duh it makes perfect sense that every coach will wanna send the best members to represent the school. so i guess for now i can only try my best, pray to be a little bit luckier, and just fence with whatever i have. even if things don't turn out the way i wish for, soon i'll realise it doesn't really matter that much after all.

and i guess the world is fair in some ways after all. when you have unpleasant things happening to you in life, you find pleasant friends who are there to support you.

johnny ng this is dedicated to you!

HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY JONATHAN NG YONG LIANG
i won't tell you to start behaving like an 18 year old or whatever cliche of that sort, cos apparently you're already damn prepared for the age, probably already thinking of the numbers to buy for 4d huh haha. just wanna say always behave like your age and like your person, and we all like you for who you are, even with all your nice hair gone in less than a year's time. and for all the cups of lemon tea + crispy chicken + nice songs + nice books + all the uncountable time spent on waiting + trips back home + intolerable annoyance + words of encouragement, i'll remember you for life, cos too bad, it's all your fault :p happy 18!
