from wanqing's blog:[[ the thing about blogs is that people can talk about others with such anonymity you have no idea who they are talking about unless they mention name. and then it ends up like a mind game trying to figure out who she's talking about but it doesnt matter really what matters is what she's saying. anyway it is never really possible to know someone inside out and to know exactly what they are thinking is impossible. it's probably a common fear that people secretly dislike you behind your back but the fear and thoughts of that is something that i am learning not to entertain. afterall if someone decides to be a hypocrite we are never really in a position to judge and at the end of the day we know we did nothing to deserve the backstabbing and i gradually convince myself it's nothing worth feeling upset over for we don't need a friend like that. besides im sure the fact that everyone is a hypocrite, at some point or another, has been established a long time ago when girls decided that bitching sessions were a good way to bond. ]]

people say the same outcome can bring about very different feelings in people cos of their different expectations, and hence they choose to have a lower expectation so that they can stay happier. but still, i won't lower my expectation for myself cos i guess for me that's the only way to push myself to reach for greater heights. but one thing that keeps me thinking these days is whether i'm expecting too much from others as well. when people don't do things that they are supposed to do or when they don't do as well as i expect them to, i'll always feel miserable. half for them and half for the fact that why am i still blaming them when they've tried their best. no one's perfect and people all make mistakes at one time or another and if i don't learn to forgive people i'll be terribly miserable when one day i don't meet others' expectations of me.

open house yesterday was not bad, though i can't deny the turnout was less than expected (look, expectation again). but still, everyone put in a lot of effort into its preparation and all these efforts deserve to be acknowledged. i didn't go for rj's open house last year but a friend who went came back telling me that the atmosphere was cold and she wouldn't want to go to a college like that. i won't say she's superficial cos who doesn't like warm atmospheres? i also don't know what made me put rj as first choice without even looking at the school in advance. but i guess even if rj's not good at making lasting first impressions, there's really plenty about the school to be discovered and it's really meant for those who dare to pick up the challenge.
